Inntel gets down to business with London Business School

Inntel has been appointed to handle the overseas accommodation requirements for London Business School.

The business travel expert will be responsible for building an international hotels programme and booking overseas accommodation to meet the needs of the members of London Business School’s staff and faculty, as well as students and alumni.

London Business School is a top ten global business school whose purpose is to deliver insights and leaders that have impact. In addition to its London location, it has a presence in three international locations, as well as alumni in over 130 countries, and links to most countries around the world. This means that its faculty, staff and students are constantly traveling, whether it be to teach, study, attend sales & marketing events, international conferences and other events, and therefore overseas accommodation is a large area of spend for the School.

After a competitive tender, the business was awarded to Inntel because the company demonstrated a clear understanding of the School’s objectives and requirements. In addition, its product scored well in terms of ease-of-use and delivery.

This is the first time London Business School has appointed a preferred supplier of international hotels and it is hoped that by encouraging spend via one online supplier, it will make life easier for the end user, as well as enable the School to more accurately monitor its spend and spending patterns. This information will be used to drive down future costs and negotiate better deals with hotels around the world. It is envisaged that users will like being given the option to book themselves via the online tool, but also know they are able to speak to a customer service operator if they have any queries or more complicated hotel requirements, such as group bookings.

In addition to researching and developing the hotel programme, Inntel’s first activity on the £1 million plus account is to conduct an extensive data gathering exercise, consolidating information in order to establish a comprehensive management information database, giving London Business School greater control over its travel spend and strengthening compliance with its travel policy.

Douglas O’Neill, Inntel’s Managing Director, said, “We are delighted to have been appointed by such a well-respected institution and look forward to working with London Business School to ensure that the service and overseas accommodation provided to its staff, faculty, students and alumni are of as high a standard as the teaching, events and facilities that the School itself offers.”
